Recovery Sessions:

Compression therapy is a treatment method that involves applying pressure to specific areas of the body, typically using compression garments or devices such as our Normatec system. It is commonly used to improve circulation, reduce swelling, and promote healing in various conditions.

Compression therapy works by exerting external pressure on the affected area, which helps to compress the underlying tissues and blood vessels. This compression helps to improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage, reducing fluid buildup and swelling. By enhancing circulation, compression therapy can aid in the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, as well as the removal of waste products.

Compression therapy is often used in the management of conditions such as lymphedema, venous insufficiency, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and varicose veins. It can also be beneficial for athletes or individuals recovering from injuries, as it can help reduce muscle soreness and promote faster recovery.

Compression garments, such as compression stockings or sleeves, are commonly used for compression therapy. These garments are designed to provide graduated compression, meaning that the pressure is highest at the extremities and gradually decreases towards the heart. This helps to facilitate proper blood flow and prevent pooling or stagnation.

A Normatec recovery session is 30 minutes of compression therapy in the comfort of your own home or at the gym after your personal training session with Matt. Leg, hip, and arm options available. Pressure and time is customized for every individual.
